Aug 26, 2010 - @lightwinged lol, of course he's not gonna cite some anime or manga. There are a lot of anime and manga influences that don't get credit. A lot of them are obscure to the mainstream public so the general doofus from Nowhereville isn't gonna know the difference. He can explain all he wants. The fact remains, Ghost in the Shell was doing that way before Bjork. You also have Shirley Manson of Garbage doing the same thing. So take it up with Shirley Manson also.

Aug 27, 2010 - I get this video its just a high tech version of genesis of the bible eve was created from the rib of adam so deep down inside she is confronted with feelings of wanting to be a man which is how most women really feel but would never say hence lesbianism

spotchecl Says:

Aug 27, 2010 - Lyrics does not make sense

Juniusrave Says:

Aug 27, 2010 - @bidonka1 Nonono..You mean you "Ike" the VIDEO but you don't really get the song.

Juniusrave Says:

Aug 27, 2010 - Respond to this video... This video was interesting. The visuals were crisp and the idea was good. The song however, was a mistake on Utada Hikaru's part. For one, since she never really explains clearly why he Makes her want to be a man, and just repeats it. The lyrics make just her sound like she wants a gender change.

Aug 28, 2010 - @MechaRadio Ok, If we're gonna go who was first, Metropolis was one of the first. and Gynoids are far to common in SF to be attributed wholesome to Ghost in the shell. Metropolis, Blade Runner, even The Stepford Wives from 1975, they were all before ghost in the shell. Besides- Bjork and Garbage have robots, not Cyborgs... ;)

Eva901 Says:

Aug 28, 2010 - @Juniusrave , She implies that she can't understand him so she wants to be a man to comprehend the way he thinks.

TheShinhung Says:

Aug 31, 2010 - I haven't the foggiest how this song is always seen as her western pop act, even calling it generic pop garbage. It's very Japanese. There's heaps cyberpunk influence coming from Japan, what with their anime, manga, and games!I don't think there are many people who really understand the meaning to the lyrics of Sarah Brightman's song Time to Say Goodbye, or Hikki's First Love, but, you see, some songs just don't need it to work well.

mjmegaplay Says:

Sep 3, 2010 - Ever since I played Kingdom hearts, and researched who sung "simple and clean," I couldn't get enough of Utada Hikaru. That is how I became a fan. All her music is brilliant, and beyond simple "Make a song and sell it big by brainwashing idiots into thinking it's the best thing since the invention of sliced bread." EmoBlood, I may not agree with your name, but I agree completely with what you said.

bidonka1 Says:

VASON528 Says:

Sep 7, 2010 - awesome video and go utada , u rock!!!!!!!!

japanaisy Says:

Sep 10, 2010 - @bidonka1 Well, since the song's about her wanting to be able to understand her guy friend, I guess this is like, her literally trying to change herself to be able to understand that guy. But that's just my guess. I'm usually not very good at understanding videos xD

japanaisy Says:

Sep 10, 2010 - Or actually, no, rather that, maybe it's a wish that we were all like machines, instead of humans with all our complex emotions and differences. ha I dunno.
